About DAVA:
Established in 2021, DAVA has grown from 30 to 80+ students in just one year! DAVA is a non-profit vocational academy (grades 9-12) that offers pipeline opportunities to in-demand jobs allowing students to earn while they learn Industry Credential Programs, Athletic Instruction, Academic Curriculum and Credit Recovery opportunities are available for all students. DAVA accepts students ages 14-21.
Along with a top-notch education program, the relationship between DAVA staff and students makes a huge difference in their learning. Building trust with the students enables them to open up and engage more in their studies. This trust extends outside the classroom – students learn soft skills that lead to a better connection with family and friends.
With the increase in enrollment, a bigger building was needed.
DAVA’s new location offers more opportunities to expand and grow its impactful programs… better serving the students and the community.
- Testimonials (or ‘In Their Own Words’):
Noble: “I enjoyed going to DAVA because the teachers were nice, and I liked the classroom size. I really liked my coach and my basketball team. The students are cool, and the school was clean. The only thing I want to see changed is having more food options I can eat.”
Quiana: “Great school!!! My son completed his first year of high school at DAVA and I was pleased with the staff and school environment. The staff is very nice and helpful, and they work together to make sure the students and parents are heard as well as great at resolving any issues or concerns of the parents and students. Going into my son’s freshman year, I knew the school was transitioning into a new building, so certain things such as family engagement was going to be hard to accomplish. However, the school did not let the transition interrupt the student’s education experience and that’s why I am looking forward to another year at DAVA. The school provides the students with a good education and school community so students can grow socially, educationally, and athletically. I feel DAVA is going to prepare my child for success through a trade and /or college. I am looking forward to my son’s sophomore year because I plan to be more active in the school and encourage other parents to be more involved.”
